With displays from around the globe, some 90 artists from 77 nations are participating in Italy's largest art exhibition – the Venice Biennale: 53rd International Art Exhibition, titled “Fare Mondi,” or “Making Worlds.” According to Director Daniel Birnbaum, the exhibition is meant to reflect “the process of creation –– a work of art represents a vision of the world and if taken seriously it can be seen as a way of making a world.” The artwork is showcased at two main venues: the old shipyards and warehouses of Arsenale and the national pavilion gardens of Giardini.
The exhibition runs from June 7 until November 22, 2009
