An eclectic and diverse group show of award-winning photographic work by 31 photographers from 12 countries will be on display at VII Photo Gallery.
An international jury of photography experts selected the winning photographs from more than 6,500 photographs submitted by photographers in 47 countries. It is interesting to note that all of the top six prize winners this year are women.
Jim Casper, jury member and founder of the Awards, said:
“For the judges, the process of looking critically at more than 6,500 photographs was at once daunting and exhilarating. The range of work is remarkable. It varies richly in subject matter, genre, technical styles and artistic approaches. What was most pleasantly surprising, for me, was discovering so many creative and unusual ways that people are using photography to tell important stories, or explore emotions, unravel psychological puzzles, to capture a moment or an age or a culture, or to just play with an imaginative idea. The winning photos represent a truly multifaceted snapshot of contemporary photography as it is being practiced in various cultures around the world today.”
